Answers to your most Frequently Asked Questions
How big are the classes? Classes typically range from 12 to 20 couples depending on the day, the time, and the type of class.
That sounds like a lot of people. It's really not. The dance floor is big and we have room for over 40 couples on the floor. So 20 or 30 couples can dance very comfortably.
Your studio is far north. Yes we are. One advantage to our extensive schedule of group classes is that you can typically take two or more classes back-to-back. This will save on your travel time.
What do I wear? Dress casually and comfortably. Wear comfortable shoes that you expect to dance in; preferably not tennis shoes or shoes with rubber soles because they grip the floor and you can't move as well.
How does it work if I don't have a partner? We rotate partners frequently throughout the class so that you get to dance with a variety of partners.
Do we have to change partners? No. We encourage you to change partners because you will learn how to lead and follow better by dancing with others. However this is your option and you may remain with your partner if you choose.
Are there discounts for couples? Yes, there are newcomer specials available to individuals and couples the first month only. Please see our New Student Special page.
What is your program for couples getting married? With this program you can learn a simple, but elegant dance for your first dance. It is not difficult to learn and the focus is sharing with your friends and family your feelings for each other rather than performing a dance routine for them. See Wedding Dances for rates and more information.
How long will it take me to learn to dance? It varies from person to person. Typically it takes three to six months to get comfortable with a dance.
Do I have to commit to a long-term contract? No. Classes can be purchased on a monthly basis. Please see our current rates.
