Go Dance offers up to 4 levels of group classes, depending on the dance. Our Level 1 classes are open to everyone. We want for everyone to enjoy dancing with their partners in class, so participation in Levels 2 and higher does require instructor approval. This way we know everyone is ready for the level of material that will be taught. Every studio has different class level structures - so if you have had previous instruction elsewhere, we encourage you to schedule a complimentary private introductory session with one of our instructors to see which of our levels will be the best fit for you.

  • Level One is a three month program
  • Level Two is a 6 month program
  • Level Three is a 12+ month program
  • Level Four is a life long endeavour!

Once you are in the higher levels you are encouraged to continue attending lower level classes for practice, and to cheer on the new dancers just getting started!

Level 1:
For beginners and those who would like to brush up on their basics.
In level 1 classes, you will learn the basic rhythm and patterns of the dance. Level 1 is a 3-month program. Each month is the same level of difficulty, but teaches slightly different variations. You may start your 3 month program at the beginning of any month (1st or 2nd week of classes, we do not recommend for new students to start group classes on weeks 3 or 4) You must complete at least three months of level 1 before advancing to level 2.

Level 2:
For intermediate dancers who have a solid understanding of the material and concepts taught in Level 1.
Level 2 is a 6-month program where you will learn new material each month. Each month’s sequence is the same level of difficulty so you may start your 6-month program at any time. Many individuals attend level 2 classes for a year or more before they are ready for level 3 classes. You must complete at least one 6-month cycle of level 2 before advancing to level three.

Level 3:
For intermediate/advanced dancers who have a solid understanding of the material and concepts taught in Level 2.
Level 3 is a 1-year (or longer) program where you will learn new material each month. Each month’s sequence is the same level of difficulty so you may start your 1-year program at any time. You must complete at least one year of Level 3 before advancing to the next level and many dancers are in level 3 for 2 or more years before they are ready for level 4 classes.

Level 4:
For advanced dancers who have a solid understanding of the concepts taught in level 3.
Level 4 is an ongoing program with new material each month and is for the accomplished social dancer who has been dancing 1.5 – 3 years. Level 4 will challenge you for many years. If you’ve made it this far you are officially a dance-aholic!

"Wow, I guess the studio is home away from home. I like the atmosphere, the wonderful staff, the people - and of course, to go there and dance. "
