Howard Smallowitz

Ballroom – Latin – Swing – Country Western - Wedding

Part Time Instructor

Howard Smallowitz hails from the small hamlet of Brooklyn, New York, so it was inevitable that he would wind up teaching Country Western dancing (among other styles) in the capital of the great state of Texas.  As a boy, he spent his days reading, running track and avoiding homework.  As a teen, he realized that the girls he so desperately wanted to meet loved dancing – and the men who knew how to do it.  Of course, good parents (and you know who you are) should drag their children to the local dance studio at an early age, so that they can get the proper training necessary to enjoy a lifetime of dance.  Unfortunately, he did not get that training back then.

Howard started dancing in the late 1990’s and has been dancing and teaching ever since.  When he is not dancing, he spends his days working for The Man and gets his endorphin rushes by running, bird-watching (insert your own joke here), living the life of a teen role model and writing about himself in the third person.

"People ask me why I still take level 1 classes... The short answer is, I like being part of the warm, funny, happy, and supportive community of friends that is Go Dance."
