I grew up in Houston, Texas and moved to Austin in 2000 to attend the University of Texas.  Since I had taken ballet from a very young age, teaching partner dancing seemed a natural choice of profession to help pay for school.  I immediately fell in love with the performance aspect of dancing – it’s such a rush to get out and perform in front of a crowd of people.  Since my start, I have won several swing titles, including a US Open Swing Championship and US Open Cabaret Championship.  My favorite music to dance to is Blues or contemporary music – both lend to the groovy feel of West Coast Swing, one of my favorite dances.  As time goes on, I am developing a love for Waltz as a very close second.

 Since I dance and travel so much, when I’m not doing one of the two I enjoy watching movies, drinking and eating good food.  And one other thing – I love coffee.  It always rocks my world.  If I weren’t teaching and competing in the dance world, I’d probably be going to grad school.
