I do not know Spanish, contrary to popular belief. I've realized in dealing with the general public that most people assume that I do, so I thought I'd get that out of the way in the beginning.
I started working part-time at Go Dance in early 2007 so I could take the free group classes (which I haven't had time to take yet). After working mornings here at Go Dance, I head off to my full-time gig as a Patient Service Representative for the Austin Radiological Association. I have pretty much the same job there as I do here, only with more paperwork and rules to remember.
I was born in San Marcos, Texas and lived on the outskirts of town until a few years ago, when I moved to the buzzing metropolis of Lockhart. I have always had a deep interest in music, and was a choir boy all through school, and even president of the Choir in high school. When I came home from school, since I lived so far from everything, I would listen to my Dad's vinyls and play Radio DJ. I also planned my glorious future as an ice cream truck driver, which I still plan on doing as a retirement gig.
Even though I haven't had the chance to dance much since starting at Go Dance, I've really enjoyed all the people that I work with. Also, I love learning about all the different dances and watching the Instructors teach; especially Tango, Salsa and Foxtrot. And, you know, I've always thought nametags were a really great idea - I forget my name sometimes, so it's always good to have a reminder!
Having two jobs keeps me pretty busy, so when I go home at night I like to just relax and take a nap and get ready for it all to start over again the next day. I do, however, find time to sing in the tub - Stevie Wonder, Led Zeppelin, Joe Cocker - my music choices tend to be pretty ecclectic. On my rare days off, all I want to do is soak up some rays at Barton Springs or Deep Eddies.
